Now that I'm more or less all grown-up, my taste buds have matured, and I live in one of the best food cities in the world, I can be as picky and choosy as I want with my takeout.
On the menu last night was Pizzeria Delfina for a gourmet, only-in-San Francisco pizza party! We're talking broccoli rabe topped thin-crust pizza, and marinated beet salad with ricotta salata for dinner.
Disclaimer: when it comes to pizza, I LOVE NEW YORK, but given the lack of New York style pizza available in our city, I'm willing to go all artisanal-housemade-fennel-sausage-fresh-stretched-mozzarella on a pizza joint.
I've tried almost everything on the regular menu, and you can't go wrong with any of it. The salumi (fancy Italian meats), spicy cauliflower and Insalata Tricolore are my favorites. Bonus items show up on the menu every night in the form of two special pizzas, maybe a calzone or other one time deals that won't be on the menu tomorrow, so you better get it while you can! Last night we had a pine nut and currant tart with some goo in the middle that was similar to pecan pie filling. Woof.
