1. My cucumber guy has returned to the Farmers' Market! This is big news in the cucumber world. They are Mediterranean-style, and really crunchy not spongy like the big waxy supermarket ones. At about 4-6 inches usually, they are also perfect for handheld snacking (insert tasteless joke here).
2. Soy ice cream. I know it's unorthodox, some might even say weird, but the Very Cherry Chocolate Chip from Double Rainbow is the best fake ice cream orgasm I've ever had. It's less-fattening and all that, but most importantly for me, causes less gas! Excellent cherry:chocolate:ice cream ratios.
3. This was a while back when mom was in town, but I can't forget the Oysters Casino we had at Hog Island. Oyster + butter + bacon + paprika served hot and bubbly. I could've eaten at least 3 dozen easy. If I was rich! They ain't cheap, so enjoy every drop of buttery oyster bacon juice you can. Lick the shell even!
4. BI-RITE CREAMERY'S SALTED CARAMEL ICE CREAM. ALL-CAPS cuz that's how good it is. If you'll remember from #2 above, ice cream usually makes my stomach a little unpleasant, but this ice cream is so mind-blowing, I'm willing to throw caution to the wind (I've got a whole box of Lactaid pills). I forgot I was eating ice cream, it was so much like homemade buttery caramel. Small batch, artisanal...just how I like it.
5. I made curried beef with broccoli for dinner a few weeks ago. It's not rocket science I know, but it was pretty healthy and pretty delicious (see recipe). And just pretty. I didn't microwave the broccoli like the recipe says, but you can do what you want if you're really into nuking stuff.
6. Maverick. The restaurant not the surf competition...I can't even swim barely! This place is definitely in my current (and probably forever) top 3 rotation. Me and D go for brunch, he usually gets the smoked duck hash and I usually get the Texan Migas scramble, strawberry lemonade (homemade of course), and cheesy grits on the side. Hallelujah hollaback! Dinner is no joke either. Don't leave valuables in your car if you drive. I'm just sayin.

4 to 6 inches! Hey - thats way off!
I have had the cukes and they are yummy. Better than my home grown. Get me some seeds. The Curry sounds good, but looks yucky. As for the Ice Creams. The soy is out with me, though I am sure it is good, but the other place has had me in an ice cream craze for days. How come you did'nt take me there??? And yes, oh yes, the oysters were to die for. I couold have eaten 4 dozen, but I had to pay the mortgage for the month... Happy eating my sweet girl....
