1. Dried Black Mission figs from the Whole Foods bulk section. A little pricey, and really plump. Did you know figs are really an inverted flower, and they come in two sexes? Hermaphrodites and females...females being the edible ones. Go figure.
2. Horchata from Victor's Taqueria on Townsend. Not watered down or too sugary, tons of cinnamon and really creamy. Can't say their food is noteworthy, but the cashier who calls everyone guapo/guapa is a nice lunchtime ego boost.
3. If you don't know about Specialty's cookies, you better find out. Get whatever is fresh out of the oven (yesterday was semi-sweet chocolate chip) and enjoy using your fingers to scoop the melted goop off the inside of the bag. Don't put the bag on any important papers or cashmere sweaters though, cuz these cookies leave serious grease stains! Healthy.
It's getting cold and windy out there. Eat well!
