When I find a piece of my hair in something I just cooked up at home, it's not a big deal. It happens. Sometimes there are ants on the kitchen counter, or in the sugar bowl, and it's no big whoop right?
But when I go out to eat, I blindly expect that there won't be somebody else's boogers in my borscht, or roaches taking dips in my dessert. Now I can keep an eye on such things in my hundreds of hours of spare time, when I'm not trying new recipes or avoiding the gym. Check out this article in today's SFGate about restaurant kitchen inspection reports. They are publicly available! Maybe people don't wanna know, but in case you wanna get skeeved out: SFGate

They just shut down one of my favorite down home buffets because of over 400 rodent droppings found in the food prep area and surroundings. (maybe that is why the food was soooo good. So you do have to check out behind the scenes occasionally.
You haven't written about your "Super Bowl Party" menu yet. Wish I could come as I have heard about some of the tasty morsels. Have a fun day chopping. (use the mandoline)
the superbowl party was full of good cookin' and plenty of veggie-friendly treats. from the vegetarian chili (pfffft) to the roasted (spicy!) sweet pototes with yogurt sauce. oh, and let's not forget the cupcakes and macaroons. mmmm!
good thing i didn't find a curly hair in my food or i'd definitely have to let the health dept. know about it!
