YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST

We've already established that I am *in the know* when it comes to the latest food trends and how to generally live the hip, happening, banging, popping, fresh, hyphy, dope, hella awesome food-loving existence that you all want to live.
Holler if you hear me!

Right, so it's no surprise that a topic I blogged about way back in January - LOCAVORES - is now getting national recognition. Locavore has just been named the Oxford Word of The Year! This is all very exciting and I am expecting my royalty check soon.

Also of note: cougar - a runner up word, and identity which I had previously explored (see: Heather's Urban Cougar Deluxe Birthday party sponsored by Miller Genuine Draft, at the cougar-in-training age of 32 - that is no lie). I have since given up this dark and shameful Mrs. Robinson lifestyle thanks to the D from Detroit!

Moving on, my Thanksgiving menu has been finalized and I will be gathering items over the next week, and geeking out about giblet vs. non-giblet gravy.

Two new recipes I'm excited about trying:
Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Cranberry Brown Butter
and
Bittersweet Chocolate Pecan Pie

You can come over if you want. Just let me know.

what's up, blog-lag? post some new stuff for your avid spicy meatball fans who need to be "in the know" about heather's life and don't have enough of a life of their own to start their own blog.

anyone seen a spicy meatball dressed in drag? been searching and haven't heard a peep in a long while. may have got all nouveau on us, and gone the way of some trendy chestnut street street "johnny come lately"...grab your meat and roll on back now!

Have to agree that Cougar's a great word. If you are a fan of the urban cougar/Mrs Robinson lifestyle check out Cougared.com - very much in the mould of gocougar. Enjoy.
